Plants That Are Poisonous To Dogs and Their Effects
BULBS
Amaryllis
;
vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, hypersalivation and tremors. Autumn Crocus; oral irritation, bloody vomiting, diarrhea, shock, multi organ damage, bone marrow suppression. Daffodil; vomiting, diarrhea, high or low blood pressure, tremors and irregular heart beat. In some cases, ingestion of the bulbs can be fatal. Elephant Ears; oral irritation, intense burning and irritation of the mouth, tongue and lips, excessive drooling, vomiting, difficulty swallowing. Gladiolas; drooling, vomiting, lethargy, diarrhea. Highest concentration is in the bulbs. Hyacinth; vomiting, diarrhea, low or high blood pressure, tremors and irregular heart beat. In some cases, ingestion of the bulbs can be fatal. Iris; nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea and fever. Narcissus, aka daffodils; see daffodils above. Tulip; vomiting diarrhea, hypersalivation. Highest concentrate of toxin is in the bulb.
FLOWERING PLANTS
Cyclamen ;
salavation, vomiting, diarrhea, heart rhythm abnormalities, seizures, death. Hydrangea; stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea, heavy breathing, lethargy and can lead to coma. Kalanchoe; vomiting, diarrhea, abnormal heart rhythm (rare) Poinsettia; irritating to the mouth and stomach sometimes causing vomiting, but generally over-rated in toxicity.
GARDEN PERENNIALS
Diffenbachia;
burning in the mouth and swelling of the tongue which may obstruct breathing. In serious cases, the plant can be fatal. Christmas Rose; drooling, abdominal pain, diarrhea & colic. Foxglove; cardiac arrhythmias, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, cardiac failure, death. Marijuana; vomiting, incoordination, sleepiness or excitation, hypersalivation, dilated pupils, low blood pressure, low body temperature, seizure, coma, or death. Morning Glory; gastrointestinal upset, diarrhea, agitation and tremors. Seeds may cause hallucination. Tomato Plants; hypersalivation, inappetence, diarrhea, drowsiness, confusion, weakness and slow heart rate. Tropic Snow; oral irritation, intense burning and irritation of mouth, tongue and lips, excessive drooling, vomiting and difficulty swallowing.

weakness, incoordination, seizures, coma, respiratory failure, death.

Jerusalem Cherry;
gastrointestinal
disturbances, possible ulceration fo the gastrointestinal system, seizures, respiratory depression and shock. Mistletoe "American";
gastrointestinal disorders, cardiovascular collapse, erratic behavior, vomiting, diarrhea, low blood pressure.
Oleander ;
diarrhea (possibly bloody), sweating, incoordination, shallow/difficult breathing, muscle tremors, and possible death from cardiac failure.
